In the beginning...................

Tri-Ard was born  in 1995 when Craig Foxhall (Managing Director), started life in a tiny Victorian lock-up in the back street of Walsall with a very lean staff, supplying Stainless Steel Fasteners to small engineers and boat builders throughout the country.

With a small motorbike workshop nearby, there were always bike enthusiasts looking for nice shiny stainless bolts for their bikes and soon word spread quickly across the motorbike world.  The Classic bike scene was especially interested as we could hold good stocks of metric and imperial fasteners to cater for such enthusiasts.  We, therefore, consider our Classic Motorbike and Car side of the business to be of fundamental importance.

Tri-Ard grew and developed steadily, nurtured by Craig’s enthusiasm to provide a service second to none by offering customers a friendly approach, good prices, prompt local free deliveries (carriers at cost across the UK).  More importantly, Craig realised where frankly the big boys couldn’t be bothered with the £1 orders, Craig saw this as an opportunity to look after these guys as importantly – hence the saying was born “No-One Tries Harder”!

As the company developed, Craig saw the opportunity to offer customers a much wider range of fasteners which incorporated H.T., Self Colour, Zinc Plated, Brass, Nylon etc., etc., His next step in 2001, was to introduce Mark Asbury to Tri-Ard (a previous partner in crime), and the addition of bringing on board WDS Tooling parts, using Marks’ wealth of experience in this field to promote WDS, drill bushes and associated products to Tri-Ard.

WDS themselves recognised this opportunity to invite Tri-Ard to become one of their Main Agents, something we are extremely proud of.  Today the WDS side of the business has grown phenomenally providing  a service enjoyed by many across the UK.

Due to this expansion on the product side, we found the need to move much larger premises to accommodate all the extra stock we needed to carry.  This allowed for us to open a Trade Counter for local collections and to satisfy demand, we introduced a wide variety of Hand Tools, Power Tools and Consumable products to both Trade and the General Public.

Tri-Ard now has a staff of 9 (10 including Dave the dog), it seems a long time ago now when Craig was burning the midnight oil alone to meet demand!
